I’m glad you found your way to my blog here at astripe.com because if you are reading this, you probably love cars and motorcycles as much as I do. My name is Tony and I have been doing hand-painted pinstriping for over 35 years now. I started way back in 1987. I am based right here in the Phoenix Metro area, mostly around 75th Ave and Union Hills, but I do offer a mobile service in some cases if you can’t bring your ride to me. I paint fine lines on everything from hot rods to daily drivers and even golf carts. People ask me all the time why I still do it by hand when you can just buy a sticker, and I tell them that a sticker has no soul. When I pull a brush across a fender, it’s permanent and it’s art. That is why I started my own clothing line too, because I wanted people to be able to wear that same garage lifestyle even when they aren't behind the wheel.

The Man Behind the Brush

I have spent most of my life with a Mack brush in my hand. Over those 35 years, I have seen every kind of car you can imagine come through the Phoenix custom scene. I’ve worked on bikes for Biker Build-Off and painted at some of the biggest car shows in the country. When you’ve been doing this since the 80s, you learn that every car has a personality. My job is to find that personality and bring it out with a little bit of paint. I use the highest quality paints like 1Shot because when I put a line on your bike or your truck, I want it to stay there for a long time. I do airbrushing, gold leaf, and lettering too. Pinstriping in the Phoenix Metro Area

Being in Phoenix is great because we have such a huge car culture here. Whether it's the Saturday night cruise-ins or the big shows like Dino's Get Down, there is always something going on. I do a lot of work for local guys who just want their daily driver to look a little different. You don't have to have a 100,000 dollar show car to get pinstriped. I strip golf carts for people in the retirement communities and I do a lot of Harley-Davidsons for guys who just want a little bit of "cool" on their tanks. Wearing the Lifestyle: The Custom Apparel Line

I decided a while back that I wanted to put my designs on more than just sheet metal. That is how the Tony's Pinstriping clothing line started. I wanted shirts that looked like the stuff we grew up with, hot rods, skulls, and classic pinstripe scrolls. These aren't just generic shirts you find at the mall. I design these myself using the same art style I use on the cars.

Why Hand-Painted Still Matters

In a world where everything is digital and mass-produced, there is something special about something that was made by a human hand. When I pinstripe a car, I'm not using a computer. I'm using a steady hand and a lot of years of practice. It's the same thing with the clothes. I want the art to feel authentic. When you wear one of my shirts, you’re supporting a local Phoenix artist who actually lives the life. I’m out there in the heat painting lines just like I have been for three decades.

I always tell my customers that I offer fair pricing for a quality job. I don't try to overcharge you, but I do take pride in what I do. If you have a vision for your car, come talk to me.
