Phoenix Pinstriping Secrets Revealed: How Custom Caddy Lines Inspired Our ‘Cadi Daddy’ Gear
Welcome
If you want to get ahold of me for some custom paint or to ask about the gear, you can call or text me at (602) 397-7134 or shoot an email over to Tony@astripe.com. I'm usually out in the garage or at a show in the Phoenix Metro Area so leave a message if I don't pick up right away.
I have been doing this for over 35 years now. I started "Tonys Pinstriping" back in 1987 after I got out of the Marine Corps and I’ve seen just about every kind of car come through the shop from hot rods to daily drivers. One thing that always gets me is the classic lines on a vintage Cadillac. There is just something about those long panels that makes a pinstriper want to get the brush out and start pulling lines. That is exactly where the idea for our 'Cadi Daddy' gear came from and I wanted to share a bit of that story with you today.
The Secret To The Cadillac Line
When you are working on a Caddy, you aren't just painting a car you are working on a piece of history. These cars have so much soul and the metal is just begging for some hand-painted accents to make those factory body lines pop. I’ve spent decades perfecting the way a scroll or a straight line sits on a fender to make sure it looks like it was born there.
Hand-painted pinstriping is a dying art but I'm doing my best to keep it alive here in Phoenix. I use the highest quality paints and real brushes: none of that tape stuff. It takes a steady hand and a lot of patience which is something I picked up from my dad Leo Perez back in his custom shop and then honed even more while I was serving in the Marines.

From The Paint Jar To The T-Shirt
People kept asking me where they could get the designs I was painting on their cars so I decided to start a clothing line. I wanted the gear to feel as authentic as the paint jobs. The 'Cadi Daddy' shirt is one of my favorites because it captures that low and slow vibe that only a Cadillac can give off.
You can check out the Cadi Daddy Pinstriper T-Shirt right here on the site: Cadi Daddy Tee at astripe.com.
I also have the 'Who's Your Daddy' shirt which is another big seller for the guys who love that retro pinstripe look. You can find that one here: Who's Your Daddy Retro Tee.

Why I Do What I Do
I’ve had some pretty cool opportunities over the years like working with Ed "Big Daddy" Roth and Kenneth Howard (you probably know him as "Von Dutch"). I even pinstriped a bike for the 2005 SEMA show and was on Discovery Channel for a "Biker Build Off" Jessie Rooke episode. But honestly, the best part of the job is just being in the shop or heading out for a mobile service call somewhere in the Phoenix Metro Area and seeing the look on a customer's face when I pull that last line.
Whether it's a motorcycle helmet, a golf cart, or a six-figure hot rod, I put the same amount of PRIDE into it. That stands for Professional Results in Daily Efforts and it's a motto I live by. I want my apparel to reflect that same level of craftsmanship. When you wear a 'Cadi Daddy' shirt, you’re wearing a design that was born from 35 years of paint fumes and hard work.

Get Your Ride Done or Grab Some Gear
If you are in Phoenix or the surrounding areas like 75th Ave and Union Hills and you want your ride to stand out, give me a shout. I do everything from gold leaf and lettering to airbrushing and southwest art. If you aren't ready for paint yet you can still support the craft by grabbing some gear from the shop.
